There is nothing more special than sitting at the waterhole and watching the animals come and go to quench their thirst and cool off in the water. Watching them all through the day and night makes you feel part of the drama that takes place at the waterhole, while sitting in the safety and comfort of the lookout point inside the camp.
With floodlights shining onto the waterhole all night long, your day can be stretched well into the night and you can enjoy the extended version of the entertainment of the nighttime animal-games. Don't ever miss an opportunity to stay at Okaukeujo and if possible, stay for at least two nights.
Guided game drives are offered in special open-sided safari vehicles. There are morning and afternoon drives for the early birds or those wanting to enjoy the sunset. Then there are also Guided Night Drives available for the night owls. Bookings must be made at reception at Okaukeujo and is operated on a first come, first served basis.
Self-drive outings from the camps cannot be undertaken in your own vehicle and the only way of getting outside the fenced areas at night, would be to join a night-drive. This is the ideal way to spend an evening getting up close and personal with the wildlife spotted on these game drives.
The sparkling swimming pool is the perfect place to cool off in during the hottest hours of the day, while the animals are also hiding from the heat of the sun.
Day visitors are also welcome to make use of the swimming pool facilities.
Typically-Namibian cuisine - which includes a wide variety of meat dishes - can be enjoyed at the restaurant where the chefs go the extra mile to cook your meal to perfection.
The bar provides a different opportunity for cooling off in the midday heat. Enjoy a refreshing drink in the cool atmosphere of the bar.
